Lefke, located in the west of the island of Cyprus, has always been preferred by many civilizations throughout its history due to its clean air, peaceful environment, greenery, abundant water resources and copper mineral deposits around it.

Especially Ottoman period works stand out very clearly in Lefke. Apart from this, Roman, Venetian and British period structures are among the other historical riches of Lefke. Lefke has a history of approximately 4000 years.

Lefke is 62 km from Nicosia and 68 km from Kyrenia in the northwest of the island of Cyprus.

Lefke has attracted attention in every period of history with all the shades of green and blue, historical monuments witnessing the periods of past civilizations, walnuts (approximately 1500 pieces) and date trees (2000 pieces), the most delicious orange of Cyprus, and picturesque views. Lefke has a unique beauty with its clean air, peaceful environment, proximity to rich copper mineral deposits, and History, Culture and Nature values. Lefke is undoubtedly the most magnificent region of the island of Cyprus.

During the British Administration, Lefke was the 7th District in Cyprus. For this purpose, administrative buildings were built in Lefke in the mid-1930s.
